Pediatric Work Group
Mission Statement: To improve continually patients care and outcome by promoting safety, research, education, national and international collaboration between clinicians and professional organizations in the area of pediatric abdominal organ transplantation
Goals and Objectives:
- Further develop medical knowledge in the area of pediatric abdominal organs transplant
- Incorporate evidence-base practices into the management of pediatric transplant candidates
- Identify strengths and limits of the practicing anesthesia transplant groups to help them to meet the gap and improved their practice
- Teach main concepts of pediatric transplant anesthesia to trainees, young practitioners, patients, and families
- Plan and develop scholarly activities including research projects and disseminate educational research through presentations and publications
- Utilize patient outcome data and accepted standards to further improve practice of pediatric transplant anesthesiology
Action Plan:
- Expend collaboration between SPA and SATA to conduct joint research projects, develop presentations and publications
- Extend SATA membership participation among pediatric anesthesiologists
- Develop different educational activities in the area of pediatric abdominal organs transplantation
- Plan potential collaborations in the area of pediatric cardiac transplantation
- Develop regular updates on SATA website about new developments in the pediatric work group
