Mission Statement and Message from the Chair:
SATA Fellowship Committee’s initial mission was to develop educational milestones and competencies for liver/kidney/kidney-pancreas transplants as part of the fellowship training in abdominal transplant anesthesiology. Within each of the established six core competencies, the task force has defined milestones to cover all aspects of perioperative management of patients undergoing abdominal transplantation. The milestones provide a framework for assessment of the development of the fellow in key dimensions of the elements of physician competency. Abdominal Transplant Fellowship committee secondary mission was about transforming didactics into a robust national learning program for transplant fellows.
Goals and Objectives
Our current goal is developing a curriculum that introduces discussions in all areas of abdominal transplantations. This educational exposure, syncs training nationwide and is designed to increase the fellow’s knowledge, skills, and clinical performance. It allows them, as practitioners, to learn and discover viable ways to improve the care we deliver each day.
Committee’s Action Plan
Those lectures are recorded and available on SATA website and can be reviewed anytime by the fellows.
