Research Committee Mission Statement
The primary aim of the SATA Scientific Committee is to enable our members to collaborate on research aimed at advancing the field of transplant anesthesia. The current effort of the Committee focuses on establishing a common infrastructure for data collection and data sharing between transplant centers, including templates for electronic data collection and data use agreements.
Society of Transplant Anesthesia – Liver Transplant Anesthesia Database (“SATA LiverQI”) Project:
Our goal is to advance the practice of Liver Transplant Anesthesia by supporting individual liver transplant centers to establish their local quality improvement database. Centers can use this database for both prospective and retrospective data collection. A standardized data collection tool allows centers to contribute a de-identified dataset to the Multicenter SATA LiverQI cohort.
The SATA Research Committee serves as the governing body of the SATA LiverQI project. We support centers in setting up their QI systems, obtaining IRB approval, and linking their dataset to other databases. Our bylaws cover rules for data sharing, data requests, authorship, and publications.
